Tightwad Tuesday: Last of the Occasions mini sets

Hi All,

With only 3 more days until the Occasions Mini expires I thought I better finish up the sets that meet my Under $20 test of best priced stamps. Stampin’ Up has made meeting that goal easier than ever by introducing their line of Clear Mount Stamps. Three of the sets featured below would have been out of the running if Clear Mount versions weren’t available. Now of course, since they are available in both mounting options, you as the consumer get to make the choice in where you consider the value lays. For some of you Wood Mount is the best choice for many reasons and for the rest it’s Clear Mount all the way. Whichever you choose the images and the rubber are still the same wonderful designs you’ve come to expect from Stampin’ Up!

So which among the fabulous designs in this years Occasions mini were your favorite? Which are you rooting for finding in the new catalog coming out in July? If you picked Tiny Tags (featured today) or Vintage Vogue you are in luck. Stampin’ Up already told demonstrators a few months ago that those two sets along with the Build a Bear dies and stamp sets will be continuing on into the new catalog. Several other items will be continuing after the Occasions mini retires and may still make it into the catalog as well. Tote-ally Tess – #118595 (CL), $16.95, pg. 41 Occasions mini

While at first glance Tess appears to be totally Demo or totally stampin’ oriented she actually has many possibilities. One of SU’s first People in action stamps that reminds me of the Hanna stamps line and a few others out there using more realistic (for a stamp anyway) people and with movement implied in the lines. That uplifted hand is perfect for adding other images from other sets. Birthday cakes, packages, maybe a bird, etc. A friend of mine also calls her a Vanna White wanna be….hm….maybe with an alphabet stamp set included?

Tiny Tags aren’t just for tags – Lol! Though of course they work perfectly for this. Perfect too for use with our Simply Adorned jewelry line of charms and to create my favorite art form “inchies”. Also coordinates with our new Jewelry Tag punch in the new punch format.

Coordinating Punch – Jewelry Tag Punch – #117190, $10.95

So many things you can do with this punch besides the obvious. Of course if you have a sale of some sort coming up it does work for price tags! Punch Creation Crafters are using this in any number of picture art pieces. My favorite is creating fences (as in this post here) or overlapping to create a woven basket look.
