Watercooler Wednesday Challenge – WWC86 – Fall Flowers

WWC86 – Gail’s Simply Stamping Fall Theme Challenge

Welcome to this weeks Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.

This Week Gail has given us the perfect start to the first day of Fall.  An ink and paper challenge using Fall colors and themes.   Granted looking out my window I’m not really seeing Fall just yet but in my heart I’ve been there for weeks now what with all the wonderful Fall  themed products in the new 2016 Holiday Catalog.

Mother Nature did contribute to the feel of Fall in the air today as the weather today stayed crisp and clear with temperatures in the 60’s so the mood was perfect.  A perfect day for a long walk in a local park enjoying flowers, trees and other lovely bits of nature.  I hope where ever you are, you are finding the first day of Fall a beautiful one.

Stamps:  Every Occasion & Basket Wishes

Inks: Delightful Dijon, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Versamark

Paper: Soft Suede, Very Vanilla Cardstocks

Punches: 2″ Circle

Tools & Adhesives:  Heat Tool, Copper Embossing Powder, Stampin’ Sponges, SNAIL

Very simple card with a bit of ink, a bit of heat embossing and sponging.  Your very basic ink and paper card.   Of course if you want to step it up just a bit you could add ribbon along the left side.  Perhaps punching a circular shape in the center and embossing the greeting directly on the card base so it shows through.

Basic directions:

Cardbase: Soft Suede – 4-1/4″ x 11″  – score at 5-1/2″, fold and crease

Vanilla Focal Layer – 4″ x 5-1/4″

On the Vanilla focal piece place a 2″ circle punch piece in the center and then stamp the flower image from Every Occasion around that circle (the circle piece helps you keep the flowers in alignment) using Delightful Dijon ink.  Stamp the greeting from Basket Wishes in the center of the flower wreath using Versamark and then heat emboss using copper embossing powder.

Finally sponge Crushed Curry, Delightful Dijon and Cajun Craze inks in circular motions around the wreath.   Adhere the stamped Vanilla layer to the Soft Suede cardbase.

That’s it for this challenge.  To see the rest of the design teams contributions to Gail’s Simply Stamping Fall theme challenge head on over to the Challenge blog website here.   That’s also where you can add your own creation with the linky doodad.  When you add your own design and there are more than three entries, one of you will be a challenge winner or runner up and have the option to place our badges on your own site.  Of course…you’ll also win bragging rights!

Check here to see the winner of last weeks challenge.   And here to see all of last weeks other linky and Artist Team entries.  All of the cards linked were deserving of the win so a very hard choice.   Check the challenge site for rules on competing for future challenges.

I hope you will add your own fall themed creations this week.  I love the inspiration I find in your shared creations.

I hope you’ll join us next Wednesday for yet another Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.

  1. What a beautiful card, with a simple design! The sponging adds a depth to the wreath that is beautiful. I’d love to CASE this!
