Fall-i-Days Thanksgiving Blog Hop: The Llamas October Edition

Welcome to the Hop!

The Llama Fall-i-Days Blog Hop Series is continuing with our October look at Thanksgiving and all things Fall or even for some Llamas a preview of Christmas in the offing.     As always you can join the Hop at any stop along the way since it circles round and round and if you get lost click on one of the Home Buttons to get you back to the Llama Hop Home Site and you can pick up the Hop once again.  The Llamas are getting better at the technical side of hopping but as we all know…computers and cyberspace have minds of their own and don’t always cooperate!

If I have the hop order correct you’ve come from my very creative Llama buddy Marsha’s blog.   Marsha and I have a secret…we’re chat buddies.   Both online and on the actual phone we check in often.   That’s what friends do right?   We both have a gazillion crafting ideas floating in our heads at any given moment waiting to be executed but we spend so much time on the phone to each other chatting about them that only a few of them ever make it to paper.  Hm…..I’ll have to remember to mention that on our next long chat.    Marsha does better than I do on that score…she has a hands free phone attachment so she can craft while we talk.  I’ll have to see what I can do on that score.

I’m making it a point to enjoy Fall this year.   I’m trying not to rush into Christmas prep too early but to enjoy the sights and textures of Fall.   Hard to do as a demonstrator since we are always a month or so ahead in our prep work for future events.   But for current workshops and now for our Fall-i-Days hop I’m thinking Fall.    Peeking ahead just a little bit though since Thanksgiving still officially falls…during…what else…Fall!

Thanksgiving is a time for memories and family and thankfulness and of course food!  what celebration doesn’t culminate in a meal after all!  But for me the first three take precedence.   Probably why I created the following card to share those same thoughts with my friends and customers at a recent Stamp Camp and now with you, my Llama hopping friends.

Wouldn’t this make a great invitation to friends and family to remind them that 1) It’s still Fall (and Christmas doesn’t start until after Thanksgiving), 2) you want to create new memories with them and 3) they are each and every one special to you.

Three different versions with a variety of embossing folders applied to the leaves (doesn’t the spider web add some nice veins?) and even a few stamped images to dress up the leaves and add some texture.   I’m so in love with Stampin’ Up’s new coordinated product offerings for Fall.   What would Fall be without leaves?   Stampin’ Up thought of that and gave us a wonderful new Autumn Accents Die for the Big Shot.   They also gave us a Woodgrain embossing folder, wood and pewter embellishments, new stamps, a new Woodgrain wheel and so much more.   Check the new Holiday Catalog (there’s a link in my sidebar) to see all the new Fall crafting goodness.

So can you tell I’m in love with Stampin’ Up’s  new Bigz Autumn Accents die?

Yep…it’s the best!   It works with paper, fabric, metal flashing and so many other things.  Since it’s a Bigz die it will cut 50 other approved materials!   Want to know what they are?  Drop me a note or leave a comment and I’ll share the list with you.

Oh…and it also works with stamps and embossing folders!

While the sets Wonderfall & Tweet Leaves were designed specifically to coordinate with this cool new die…I also discovered another of my favorite stamp sets works too…French Foliage!

See what I mean?

Check back later this week for more tips on working with this cool new die.   I also have a tip or two to share about using the new Core’dinations paper in our embossing folders.  And a look at the many folders that can give the leaves a fun texture.

I hope you’ll give this new die a try.  It’s added another item to the list of things for which I’m thankful and also added to the ways I can express thanks and create a Thanksgiving celebration too!     You can quickly and easily create a drift of leaves for your holiday table.  Create place cards and mini tags (I’ll be back with some of those another day) and even write what you are thankful for on a leaf and add to a family Thanksgiving Scrapbook Page or framed reminder.    So many possibilities.

And while we’re on the subject of Thanks….Thank you to Stephanie Osgood for designing our wonderful Falliday Blog Hop header and buttons.  She works her magic with My Digital Studio.  Stampin’ Up’s Digital Design Solution for just about everything you need it to do.   If you’d like to try your hand at it you can download a free trial version here.    And don’t forget to check out our new lower professional print prices here.   Stampin’ Up lowered them all…some as much as 50%.  Something else to be thankful for!

Thanks for visiting this stop on the Llama Hop.    Now it’s time to stop playing with the leaves drifting across my pages and hop along to the very creative and MDS skilled Stephanie’s blog.   Yep..that’s right…the same Stephanie who created our banners and buttons!  Have I mentioned I love all my Llama sisters and their many and varied talents?

Note:  My very dear and creative friend Christine’s blog hop offering was all set to be a part of the hop when technology and travel intervened.   She’s on the road visiting family and dining if the whispers are right with pilots and ex-FBI agents.   Should make for interesting dinner conversation don’t you think?   While I’m bummed she won’t be an official part of the hop this time around – drat those hotel internet connections – you can still enjoy her creativity by visiting her blog (click on her name) once she gets the glitches fixed.
