Cards in the Mail…and very dear friends!

Much as I love the “you’ve got mail” ding on my computer I love the real life cards that show up in my mail box even more.  I’m lucky to have so many crafting friends and fellow demo’s that share their talents with me on a regular basis.  Thought I would share a bit of the love over the next couple of weeks….

First up is Florentina Rivas’s Iris Fold Technique card.  Ignore the yellow papers in the background as they aren’t part of Florentina’s wonderful creation but just happened to be sitting on the desk when the picture was taken.  I wish you could see this card in real life as the folds really pop out and the colors are more intense than shown here.  I love the contrast of the hemp twine with the elegance of the scallop corner punch and the folded papers.  The little mini jewelry tag punch is very cute and I love the tiny “friends” text from the “Tiny Tags” coordinating stamp set.  It’s on my wish list and now you can see why.

Thanks Florentina for brightening my day with this lovely creation!

Tip:  Now that Stampin’ Up has gorgeous new fabrics out in the Holiday Mini, as well as its award winning paper line, it might be time to try this technique with fabric as well as paper.  After all, if its all Stampin’ Up, you know its all going to coordinate with color and style as well as with the stamps and other embellishments you might need for the project… right?

Happy folding and don’t forget to check your mailbox.  You never know when someone might have gifted you a glorious card to make your day bright and your heart sing.   Better yet…send one to someone you know…or a complete stranger and spread the joy!

Hugs and blessings – Jean
