My Blog Picks and Posts from Here and There Around the Web #26

Hi All,

Here’s my latest set of Blog Picks from here and there around the web.  Generally, you’ll see all SU here on my blog but here and there I find inspiration that is eminently CASEable with SU Product so will share that as well with suggestions for alternate stamps and paper.  Feel free to copy and paste this list and pass it around to fellow stampers or customers or whoever.   Keep in mind there is a lot of inspiration out there and these are just a few of what I’ve found that struck my fancy (so it’s very subjective).   If you are an SU demo or customer and would like to see a more extensive list I have newsletters for both groups (free for right now) with more details, FYI, video and tutorial links.  Email me if you are interested.   Now with that plug out of the way here’s this weeks list of links.

Video’s – Chocolate Bunny conversation & – envelopes made interesting tutorials

Tips & Techniques & Reviews – review of an eBook on craft based blogging – great use for those rubber scraps you don’t want to throw away.  Also if you want a permanent mosaic block adhere the pieces to a scrap of wood or an old non SU acrylic block you no longer need.

Talented Demo Alert!  You should really subscribe to Susan’s blog feed as well as her You-Tube Channel!

3 video’s – probably the best I’ve seen for comparing wood and clear mount and how to mount them both as well how to turn wood mounts into clear mounts (both before and after they are wood mounted. – Wood Mounts & Clear Mounts & Stamps Oh My! Part 1 –  Wood Mounts & Clear Mounts & Stamps Oh My! Part 2 –  Wood Mounts & Clear Mounts & Stamps Oh My! Part 3 – pictorial tutorial outlining the basic steps from the video’s

Notes: on finding the Clear Vinyl Susan uses in her video’s:

Clear vinyl sometimes called crystal clear vinyl or double polished vinyl.

DO NOT purchase matte or frosted – those won’t work.

Both 0.004 & 0.008 thicknesses work great

Look in fabric stores (they sometimes refer to it as vinyl fabric) or possibly hardware stores.

You need vinyl, not plastic or polyethylene.

some ideas to help you get the correct product when you go shopping.  When you’re looking at it in the store, fold it back on itself and it should want to lightly stick together.  Not as if it were glued together, but it will cling together for a second or two. Vinyl will do that, plastic or whatever this other stuff is won’t.

Susan’s offer to share a vinyl sample can be found here –
