Tightwad Tuesday: Birthdays continued

Hi All,

Continuing the birthday salute here’s another assortment of frugally priced stamp sets, downloads, scrappin’ kit and a few project links perfect for birthday gifts, party favors etc.

Please note also that several of these featured sets are also available as Sale-a-Bration freebies.  Can’t get more frugal than free right?  In fact if you decide to purchase a couple or more of these other non SAB sets you’ll qualify for the free SAB ones and then you’ll have all your future birthday needs covered!  Of course you’ll still need paper and ink etc. but hey that’s what a stash is for right (assuming your stash is all SU anyway :D)?

To see the full listing of stamp sets under $20 check out the right hand side bar SCRIBD documents.  These can be printed or downloaded as you desire.

Happy Everything – #115235, $18.95, pg. 142 IBC

Here’s a stamp set who’s name says it all.  Happy Everything has just about everything you need for wishing someone a happy something!

French version: #116249 – Not too sure where SU got the translation for this one as in my book this name as listed translates as happy happy.  Perhaps Joyeux Tout or Tout Joyeux.  Hmmm….I guess my French is a little rusty as well.

Simple Birthday Thanks

#111546, $17.95, pg. 70 IBC

Though most often, this set seems to be used as a template of sorts for creating large cupcake images the original purpose for this stamp was to make it easy to send a cute and personalized thank you that even a child can create.   Not sure my Mom would approve.  She was big on handwritten notes and I think might look askance on a fill in the blank approach.  On the other hand in these modern life at high speed times I’m betting Grandparents and others would like any acknowledgement and at least the coloring could be done by hand to add that personal touch!

 A Little Birthday Cheer

#115018, $13.95, pg. 138 IBC

Digital download #119098, $1.95, online store

A versatile set of 4 phrases for every kind of birthday card.

This is also one of the sets available for free through Sale-a-Bration.

Two of the phrases will also work for non-birthday.  The “Celebrate You” text works for congratulations cards among others and the “Make a Wish” would work for cards about dreams and goals and aspirations of all kinds.  The “…and you thought I forgot” sentiment would even work for tongue in cheek anniversary cards and other occasions you want to “remember”.

Celebration standard wheel  #112477, $6.50, pg.69 & 205

Companion wheel to the new set Party Hearty it’s  “time to celebrate” sentiment works for many occasions including birthdays.  Perfect to create quick banners by wheeling all over a banner sized roll of paper or to add an accent to card or scrap page.   I had a hard time finding published samples.  So sad when Google and my usual gallery sources fail me :D!

Birthdays Count Mini Note Kit  #116210, $9.95, Online Store

This lovely little kit was first featured in last springs catalog and originally was included in the retired list.  Turned out Stampin’ Up! had quite an overstock in the warehouse so for a limited time (while supplies last) it’s still available in the online store or through your local demo on a regular order.  Get yours while you can.  This mini kit includes a double-mounted stamp, 4 Whisper White Gift Notes & Envelopes, and a Chocolate Chip Stampin’ Spot.  All the basics you need  in one package to create a fun set of cards.  Just add a touch of inspiration and creativity to your embellishments and you are good to go.

On a Pedestal #113814, $19.95 pg. 71 IBC

One of the stamp sets included in the Starter Kit for new SU demonstrators so you know Stampin’ Up! considers it a staple set.  The cake plate image has been used in a number of fun ways by many card crafters and not just to hold a cake.  Lots of coloring possibilities and coordinates wonderfully with our eyelet and scallop border punches.  Very mod almost retro 60’s style adds color and dash to any card.   I might add that the texts can be non birthday as well and the cherry image can be used to create some fun background pers or added to Valentine cards since the cherry is a bit heart shaped.  You might even top an ice cream scoop card with the cherry as well.

This is a new set this season and is also available in French and Spanish.

Stampin’ Up! also does digital!  Using My Digital Studio or the following downloads that work in other software programs as well you can create multiple birthday cards for pennies a card.  Whether eCards or printed out as a traditional card the possibilities with digital are endless and limited only by your imagination.

A reminder that digital downloads also count towards Sale-a-Bration and Hostess Reward benefits.  Another wonderfully frugal benefit of these downloads is that shipping is free and instantaneous as it all takes place right on your computers desktop when you order through the online store!
