More Swaps Inspiration

Hi All,

Here’s a few more swaps inspiration from the Stampin’ Up 2009 Convention for your weekend viewing pleasure.

I’ll be back next week with the cards from this Saturday’s Stamp a Stack that my SU partners Linda, Cheryl and our newest addition to the team Joela presented to our friends and customers.   We had a good sized group of  attendees and while a lot of cards were stamped, good food shared and eaten and of course chat and more I’m a bit worn out so will take a day off before resuming the usual program.    Still have the newsletters to get off and another two rooms to get into order for the house sale so as they say no rest for the wicked – too bad I can’t convince the cats that moving furniture, decluttering and cleaning is a fun occupation for felines.  If I could only get them to slide on their fur sides around the furniture – but acting as dust mops appears to be beneath a cat’s dignity!

So here’s the swaps and I’ll look forward to seeing you again next week for SAS reveals, Tightwad Tuesday and more.  As always if you have any favorite stamp sets you would like to see featured or techniques investigated drop me a line.  And if you need stamping supplies of any kind I’ll be happy to place an order for you.

First up:

Stamped on glossy paper and inserted into the corners (through slits) in the black mat the image and greeting are from Thoughts & Prayers.  The card base is white (the yellow background is from the scanner background sheet.  I wish I knew what technique was used to achieve the background.  It’s absolutely amazing and almost seems to move when you shift the angle of the card.  A pity the full gloss texture doesn’t show up well in this scan.

Cheers to You stamp set and torn paper technique along with the color combo gives this card a more masculine feel.

Next:

Marette’s card uses the set Cheep Talk and is a tad different in that the whisper white layer is essentially a tent cart attached to a Melon Mambo single layer base.  The unexpectedness of this layout adds to the fun of this simple card.

And lastly:

A special 3D swap with a 2″ x 2″ white tile stamped I think with Black Stazon using Dreams du Jour.  Add a magnet on the back and you have a lovely magnetic note holder or leave it plain as a paperweight or place on a small stand for a tiny object d’art.  Lovely stocking stuffer for the upcoming holidays.
