Tightwad Tuesday Featuring – Little Boo & Gobble, Gobble

Hi All,

Welcome to Tightwad Tuesday where you will find links and ideas for stamping on a budget!  Who’s budget??   Well, granted the difference between yours trulys budget and say Queen Elizabeth’s budget might be just a weensy bit wide.    You don’t suppose Buckingham Palace has a secret fully stocked Stampin’ Up! Studio do you?  Hmmm…SU is available in England so I’ll have to check to see if any of my English SU sisters have approached Her Majesty about hosting a workshop!

In the meantime and back in the real world I try to keep my needs simple and thus was born the Under $20 stamp and wheel list that you can find  in my Sidebar.

Today is another Tuesday two – fer and features two stamps from the under $10 category.  Don’t you just love it when you can get two stamps and still be under $15!   Leaves room in the weekly stamp budget for some ink or paper or……hmmm maybe buttons?

Little Boo

Little Boo (# 115558, $6.95, pg.208 IBC) is one of the cute single stamps that Stampin’ Up! recently started adding to the line-up.  Page 208 in the full catalog has several as does the new Holiday Mini.  Previous single stamps from the last catalog are on the dormant list and still available for order.   To see those images check the dormant list here or in the right hand sidebar.

This cute little ghostie is perfect and perfectly priced for use in Halloween stamp projects.  Check out the links below for examples of projects by many talented stampers.

tip:  Boo at just slightly over 1″ in diameter lends itself quite easily to “inchie” designs.  Inchie designs often use multiples in various layouts.  Often interspersed with similarly sized punch pieces of Designer Series Paper or other related images.  You might include smaller images from the Holiday Blitz stamp set (p.44 IBC) with Pumpkins, Leaves and other ghostieor use those images to create a fun background then stamp Little Boo and punch out with a circle punch and pop up with a dimensional.    Inchie designs also lend themselves to clean and simple (CAS) design projects easily reproduceable for party favors, invitations, etc.   And of course Little Boo will coordinate perfectly with our Halloween themed papers.

Next up in this two-fer Tightwad Tuesday post……

gobble gobble

Gobble, Gobble ( # 116535, $6.95,  pg.21 Holiday Mini)

Gobble, Gobble is a fun little turkey who’s spreading fan of feathers lends itself to lots of interesting color treatments.  Depending on the style and colors you use this versatile bird could represent several different cultures art styles while still being the perfect representative for the  American (or Canadian) Thanksgiving  Holiday.   And of course  priced at $6.95 he won’t break your holiday budget!  Perfect for table decorations, place card, invitations, cards and tags of all kinds you can also use this clever bird with or without text or the text with or without bird to create watermarked backgrounds with or without other stamp sets.   Wow!  That’s a lot of “W” words to fit in one sentence!   Seriously though as you will see in many of the links G-G fits with many of our new Designer Series Papers and Fall stamp sets while also looking good all by his lonesome.  He’ll even segue into Christmas with a bit of snow!   Now wouldn’t that be cute a face off with Santa in the snow.

While these links may look sparse this little guy has only been on the block for a short time.   If you want to see more as time passes just Google:   Gobble Gooble Stampin Up for more inspiring links.

tip:  Like many stamps with both an image and a  phrase the give thanks on the stamp image can be cut away from the turkey image and placed on the side of the stamp so that you have a true two-fer stamp that will allow you to easily use the text without the image for any project while still allowing you to easily combine the two as originally shown.   If you are reluctant to separate the two you can easily use a marker to ink just the portion of the stamp that you want to use.   You can also use your markers to add a variety of colors to the turkey and his plumage.

And speaking of markers, don’t forget that for the first time SU has come out with markers to match this years In Colors!  YaY!  And those colors look absolutely gorgeous on this newly minted single stamp.  Just  a reminder though…Gobble, Gobble as a Holiday Mini item is only available until January 4th, 2010.  After that he’ll be Gobble, Gobble gone…(sorry couldn’t resist that line – LoL!)    If you would like to order either of these two singletons drop me a note, give me a ring or click the online ordering link in my left hand sidebar and please don’t forget to choose me as your demonstrator.    And don’t forget to ask me about my personal Fall Specials…they change each month (sometimes by the week) and vary from free product to free shipping with various sized orders.

Thanks for stopping by.

Hugs and Blessings – Jean
