Tightwad Tuesday morphed to Frugal Friday and meets Stampin’ Up!’s new Holiday mini!

Hi all,

As the title indicated Stampin’ Up!’s new Holiday mini is here!!  Yay!!  Live at last and filled with unbelievable stamping goodness….though if you had joined my demonstrator team you could have been playing with this new stuff for a month now 😀 – not rubbing it in…just saying! :D!

You can download the mini and the supplies list for the samples found in the mini on my lefthand sidebar.  And of course don’t forget to click on the Hostess Special Badge to learn more about that as well.

And seeing that it’s Tuesday and all us Tightwads are cruising looking for the best deals you know I just had to start my Holiday Mini celebration off with an Under $20 featured set.

edited to add: Okay I know it’s really Friday (just barely) but as some of you know things got a little crazy with Stampin Up and new demo policies there for a day or so and it was unclear if my blog was in violation of the more explicit guidelines so I took a mini vacation there for a bit.   Having done that I’ve morphed Tuesdays post into a combined Friday so today you can be both Frugal and a Tightwad or either one.  Your choice assuming you see a difference in the two – hee, hee, hee

Today’s feature was a toughy for me.  I know this mini will be around until January so there’s lots of time for featured sets (though with so many under $20 it will take awhile) but the question was do I feature a new product line (with which this mini is crammed) or do I go with my favorite sets or what.  What to do, what to do.  Well how about a two-fer????  As in Tightwad Tuesday Two-fer.   SHeesh!  I’m getting carried away with the alliteration not to mention the tongue twisting (I dare you to say Tightwad Tuesday Two-fer 3 times fast with a straight face…can’t be done). **

** And now that its actually Friday I suppose my Tuesday two-fer is back to being a one and one :D!  – Not!  I’ve also listed the coordinating text and image sets Seal of Pawthenticity and Beary Nice Wishes.

So without further ado todays two-fer features BOTH Beary Best Friends – the first in  line of the new Build a Bear Workshop featured partnership, and Charming – the stamp set that coordinates with the new line of Simply Adorned Charms and necklaces that also happens to be a personal favorite of mine for stamping in general.

Beary Best Friends Stamp Set This Beary Best Friends (#118052, $18.95 pg. 34 in the Holiday Mini) has in one set everything you need for some very fun cards.  Take your pick of boy or girl or use them together and of course they come with some cute accessories.  The only thing missing is a text or two and of course SU has you covered with a second  and third set of inexpensive coordinated bear sets for text and image.

Of course sets like Teeny Tiny Wishes and other text sets will also work.  And did I mention that these cute bears will also enliven a scrapbook or two not to mention they’re perfect for party invitations, new baby welcomes and pretty much anything else you can think of.    So cute you know you are going to find yourself naming these guys.  Personally I’m envisioning incorporating them into a kids book of some kind.  Perhaps a book on manners (Sheesh only a grownup would think of that) or maybe a bilingual language lesson booklet – one bear could give the Spanish of an object or a phrase and the other could give the English?  Hmmm…so many possibilities!  And did you notice the shoes!  For some reason that’s the part that cracks me up!  I can tell you that the teenage bear in my drive did not wear shoes!  Okay so he was naked as a jaybird too except for the fur.  Still…shoes???  Only thing missing is a picnic basket – hee, hee, hee.

Many of these combine bothBeary Best Friends andBeary Nice Wishes with a few also have Seal of Pawthenticity.

Beary Nice Wishes stamp setSeal of Pawthenticity stamp set

Beary Nice Wishes – # 118050, $16.95, Pg. 36 Holiday Mini

This set of greetings works with any of the Build a Bear line of dies, stamps and papers and of course with quite a few other sets found in the full Idea Book and Catalog.  Several of these are sized perfectly for tags and smaller projects and can be used to create a frame for an image, a picture, a decor element or just about anything else.  Cute too stamped on a babies onesie or other fabric projects.

Seal of Pawthenticity – # 118054, $9.95, Pg. 36 Holiday Mini

Cute for any project requiring a paw print (cat, dog, bear) or other animal theme.  Perfect for a coordinated stamp on the back of any BAB card though you should be aware that because it doesn’t have the copyright image stamp  it does not meet the requirements of the angel policy.  So if you are creating these for sale in various venues you will still need an angel stamp approved image for the back of the project.

And now for the grown ups and Romantics among us here’s my favorite set Charming!

Charming stamp setCharming(#116519, $19.95, pg. 32 Holiday Mini) while designed to work specifically with the new Simply Adorned Charms and Chains (a new jewelry line by SU) has so many more uses.  As you will see by the variety of projects represented by the links below this set as a bit of everything and something for everyone!   The text stamp though small can be used to create wonderful backgrounds with its inspiring words of inspire, create, share, dream etc. all words I might add that apply to Stampin’ Up’s philosophy and new tag line.  This set also has a vintage style blossom, damask and medallion images, a frame and of course a butterfly!  So many possibilities from intricate to CAS cards and projects are within the scope of this single stamp set.  You might find it contains all you need!   And of course it’s all there for under $20!!  Perfect for Weddings, Mother’s Day, Birthday’s, Thank You’s and so much more.

Not a lot of bloggers have discovered this set just yet because the Simply Adorned charms have been delayed in their release until consistency in quality control issues can be resolved.  Stampin’ Up! as you know is committed to quality in all its product so suspended shipments temporarily.   However with the wait some have decided to play with the stamps in the meantime and have been posting their efforts on Splitcoaststampers SU gallery.   So sit back and prepare to be Charmed!  – Sorry I just couldn’t resist such an obvious bit. 😀
