Stamp Camp – cards

Hi All,

Thought you might enjoy seeing 3 cards from a recent Stamp Camp that featured new stamp sets and new In Colors as well as the trusty Big Shot.   My wonderful  Stampin’ Up! partners Cheryl (my Upline) and Linda (my sideline) and I generally put together several joint events every quarter. Good food, good fun and good friends always make for a WoW event. As I get my blog a little more together I’ll try to post our event details so you can join us if you are in the neighborhood. We generally showcase 4-6 projects with a bonus or two and of course door prizes such as a $25 gift certificate, sample paper packets, etc, a card exchange and of course Chocolate! All wrapped up with a potluck and lots of fun.  Not bad for 4 hours and $15 (slightly less with an order of course).

Lots of new product featured here.  From new In Color cardstock, ribbon  and markers to a new hostess and regular stamp set to DSP.  Of course the stand by’s are pretty cool too! Especially the Big Shot!

Card #1 is my Upline Cheryl’s Razzleberry tent card CASE’d from several samples around the web and made her own with style and “punch”. She also showcased a technique using the Word Window Punch to create smaller labels than it’s usual size. My favorite feature on the card are the polka dots added with the gel pen to the focal frame and scallop punch to replicate all the dots on the ribbon.  And of course the Rhinestone bling!  After all a card like its creator has to have a bit of “jewelry” right! 😀

This is the outside and below you can see the fun textured inside.

The texture was achieved by using the Texturz plates set SU background #1 with a Big Shot.   Talk about adding  an unexpected WoW to the inside of your card!

Card #3 is Cheryl’s Big Shot project that also features the Vanilla Hodgepodge Deal of the Week. Note: after this sample was made she discovered that the flower embosslit she used was retired so other embosslits were offered for stampers use in making up their own cards but since I particularly liked this one this is the one you get to see. You can make your own adjustments if you don’t have this particular embosslit. 😀

The base card was created by placing the folded cardstock below the cut line on the Scallop Circle die. Lots of texture and only one small bit of stamping on this every simple 10 minute card. Don’t you love how the ribbon adds not only color but support so no brads needed! A very bright Summer card that would be perfect for a birthday BBQ invitation or use our slit punch & Dotto to adhere a gift card to the inside!

Hope you enjoyed this virtual peek at just a part of the fun that was had at this July 25th camp.  Our next group event is tentatively scheduled for September 26th so mark your calendars as we will be showcasing products from the upcoming Holiday Mini.  Did you know demonstrators have been able to see and order from this mini since August 1.  Just another reason to ask me about signing up today.  Especially since our current sign up special expires the end of this month (click on the badge in the sidebar for details)!

Hugs and blessings and hope you find some time to stamp this week! – Jean

Blog note: My posting may be a bit erratic for the next couple of weeks as I’m working out Internet issues. Feel free to email me however and I’ll try to get back to you reasonably promptly using alternate connections.
