News Flash: Big Shot now has a big brother!

Big Shot now has a Big Brother – Big Shot Pro!

Wow did Sizzix manage to keep this under wraps!  I came across this on the Scrappy Land Blog and boy was it a shock.   Not a lot of details yet and not even a picture on the Sizzix site.
When I talked to Demo Support they said SU was not planning to carry this monster just yet.  Probably a wise decision as it gives a year for all the bugs to be worked out.

Here’s the announcement I issued in my demo only newsletter:
******************************************************************************
The video was put together with someones cell phone or small camera so is strung together in a 4 part video of the new Big Shot Pro being shown by Sizzix at CHA Summer show and will be available from Sizzix in November/December  – Not a lot of details but it looks as if it will manually handle 12×12 sheets like the newer Cricut machine has been designed to and several design changes may make for a sturdier longer lasting machine overall. No price mentioned though it does appear to be compatible with everything that currently works in the Big Shot.
When I talked to Demo Support they said SU was not planning to carry this monster just yet.  Probably a wise decision as it gives a year for all the bugs to be worked out.   Looks more promising though than the electric version that Sizzix brought out last time.

So far the biggest negative apart from a probably hefty price tag is the size and the need for more coordinating pads, etc though this time around Sizzix seems to have included more of the basics in the base package.   Finding room for this big baby is going to be interesting.   On the positive side the possibility of larger dies for larger boxes and other 3D items would be wonderful for those of us that do craft fairs and other sales type related ventures.   Luckily it looks like it’s backwards compatible with all earlier types of dies though I can’t imagine taking this out to cut an itty bitty Sizzlit!    Still it’s always nice to have options…right??

Just thought you should know.

  1. Wow! That is a BIG machine. I can’t wait to see the new dies for it. Thank you for putting all the info together.

  2. I want her t-shirt !!! But it leaves me wondering what Sizzix has up their sleeve with BABW. Most likely they will carry some product that is not exclusive to us but changed just enough to compete for our customers. What a great way to do business ! (not!!!!)
