Just So You Know….Correction Alert from SU – Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder

Just so you know……

Recently Stampin’ Up! issued a correction notice to the instruction insert for the Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder … and they asked that we pass it on to all of our customers.  The folder itself is perfectly fine it’s the instructions only that had a misprint.

This is from Stampin’ Up! Correction to Manhattan Flower Embossing Folder Insert July 9, 2009:

There is an error on the insert for the Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions embossing folder (item 114517). The insert instructs you to use Tab 2 on the multipurpose platform with this folder. This is incorrect. You need to use Tab 1 on the multipurpose platform with this folder. If you use Tab 2, your sandwich will be too thick to run through the Big Shot.

Please note that there is nothing wrong with the product itself; the error is on the insert only. The embossing folder will work properly when you use it with Tab 1.

We remind you that you don’t need to use much pressure with Big Shot dies. When you insert a die into the Big Shot, the handle should turn slightly. If the handle doesn’t move, or if you have to force the die through, your sandwich is too thick and you’ll need to adjust it. Forcing a die through the Big Shot with too much pressure can damage your die or Big Shot and void your manufacturer’s warranty.
****************************************************************************

If you are like me you probably didn’t notice.  While I do scan the directions generally, for something as simple as the embossing folders I generally just check the notations on the multipurpose platform when I run a die through my Big Shot.

Additional note:   For those of you who are still working with other die cutting machines like the Sizzix Original and the Cuttlebug these new SU embossing folders work just fine with your older machines.    While I think in the long run you will want to upgrade to the Big Shot for many, many reasons you can still enjoy SU exclusive dies and embossing folders in the machine you are using now.   If you have questions or would like to place an order email me or leave a comment with your contact info.

Hugs and Blessings – Jean
